The Murphysboro Event Center, formerly known as the Elk's building was constructed in 1916.


Located in Downtown Murphysboro, the Murphysboro Event Center offers a unique, upscale venue for intimate gatherings for as few as 25 people to grand receptions for up to 500 guests.

The Murphysboro Event Center features a new 2000 sq. ft. three story addition, with elevator, staircases, lobbies, kitchen, and the newly renovated Cooper Mine Lounge, Great Hall, and Dogwood Ballroom.

Additional Fees

* There is an “additional fee” of $250.00 for any event where alcohol is served. This fee is not a "clean up fee". The renter will still be expected to clean up the rented space and will be responsible for damages. All alchohol/bartender services are provided by the event center, no outside alcohol will be permitted.

* Housekeeping service is available at an additional charge of $100.00 per floor or $75.00 per partial floor. Minimum charge of $25-$50 when housekeeping services are declined.

* Prices are based on a one day rental only. If you wish to reserve and decorate the evening before, and the center is available, an additional charge of $100.00 will apply.

* Rental of a floor screen and projector will be an additional charge of $50.

* Rental of podium will be an additional charge of $50.

* Chair upgrade to wooden, padded chair is 50¢ a chair.

* Linens, napkins or table skirts are available for an additional fee.
